Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll is actively seeking applicants for an Electrocardiography (ECG) Technician position.
The ECG Technician provides technical expertise related to performing and reporting non-invasive cardiac testing procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Electro-cardiograms, including initial interpretation of patient condition and generated results.
- Perform Cardiac Stress Testing with the guidance of Internal Medicine Physician.
- Complete patient preparation and documentation.
- Complete Cardiac Stress testing procedure.
- Perform holter monitoring.
- Complete Electrode application.
- Complete monitor connection.
- Complete monitor reading.
- Perform routine maintenance and care of testing room and equipment.
- Complete monthly statistics.
- Complete payroll and administration functions as required.
- Provide leadership and support in regards to Cardiac testing procedures and processes.
- Be Diligent in identifying risks to team members, patients and visitors to the department, notify department leadership of these risks and participate in risk mitigation activities.
Qualifications:
- Cardiovascular Technologist diploma or equivalent with active registration and membership in good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist (CSCT) is required.
- Current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification is required.
- Recent related experience in performance of E.C.G., Stress Test and Holter monitoring is asset.
- Working knowledge of Cerner, PACS, Philips Holter Software & M-Health considered an asset.
- Advanced arrhythmia interpretation skills.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in an inter-professional environment.
- Self-directed, self-motivated, work independently and prioritize work situations.
- Proven advanced decision making and problem solving abilities.
- Attention to detail with high level of accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of patients and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
Other pertinent conditions:
- Must be available to work all shifts as required which may include weekends, stat holidays, days, evenings, and night shifts.
- Salary as per the OPSEU collective agreement ($27.85 per hour to $32.11 per hour)
